Ok ok I've calmed down

Gee... I was a crabby bunny yesterday.

Today, however, I feel more like me again.

My Poetry final was good. I think I did "A" writing.

I took a walk around the campground this evening and smelled the fires, listened to the trees murmuring about the wind, looked out at the lake shimmering in the warm sun and thought... you know, there are innumerable summer jobs that suck WAY more than this one.

I am perfectly entitled to vent about a situation or have a bad day ... but I am also allowed to enjoy the beauty and peace and myself.

A Little Understanding, Please People!

Just got "an official warning" at work today... I've been late a couple of times already and need to make a little more effort to arrive on time. Hmm... I understand that employees need to be on time and all but seriously... how many of the co-workers are going to school full-time AND working 40 hrs a week? I know that was my choice... but it would be nice if my track record would be taken into consideration. I am an exemplary employee and as soon as school is over I will resume that course. FAK. Would be nice if someone would cut me A LITTLE FREAKING SLACK! I am so tired and burnt out and my final for part 1 of spring session is tomorrow morning. All I want to do is get in my car, drive home and sleep. Screw the job. I know I am taking this way too far because I am wayyyyy overtired, but I am upset. Just once I'd like to be given credit for what I am trying to do rather than taking shit all the gd time. I should just quit it all and work at 7-11 for the rest of my life. (>.<)

ACK! and I thought WINTER was busy LOL

So. My car is officially dead. Upon return from Regina it had 1 1/2 flat tires and stubbornly refused to start, move and even to lock. This was kind of sad for me because that car and I had been through a lot together. This was also a panic-inspiring occurrence because I was starting work on May 9th and NEEDED transportation.

Lots of negotiation and class-skipping and ride-sharing later, I am the proud owner of my first EVER NEW CAR!!!!! It's a Toyota Yaris sedan and I am in love. It runs, has 4 doors, manual transmission and air conditioning! There are other features too, but these were my main criteria. It's a blessing to be driving a car that you know will be reliable.

The last couple of weeks have been UBER busy. (I know, I know... story of my life.) Seriously, though, this was last week:
Monday: class 9-12, grocery shopping, cooking supper for the first time in a week
Tues: class 9-12, Chris Isaak concert that evening- last minute invite from my sister (needed to see her... busy lives don't allow for much together-time!)
Weds: class 9-12- essay due that morning, work 1-9
Thurs: class, work 1-9 and supposed to meet friends after the MCR concert... I was soooo tired but after my friend D called me I got dressed... then lay myself down on the bed to chill with the Dude ... then it was Friday :( so I missed hanging out with my Rexall friends who I all miss a lot since I quit.
Fri: class, stop @ parents house to play with dog, work 2-10, house sit... etc and etc...

it's a good thing I'm taking a poetry class for this half of the term- the reading assignments are short and sweet! :D

so wah, poor me and all that... 2 weeks of this insanity down and 4 to go... I'll be glad when I'm down to just working my 40 hr weeks :D at least this way I don't have time to spend any of my paycheques... tho' the same applies to cooking, cleaning, together time with anyone but my schoolmates or co-workers...

anyway, please don't forsake me, dear friends. :) just cuz I ditch ya doesn't mean I don't <3 ya... just means my time management sucks nuts.

I Blame Regina!

Yes, that's right. I am blaming the city of Regina for my lack of blogging. So there.

The few days preceeding the trip were a little hairy, my car being one of the main stressors... but we got off to a decent start from Derek's work at 4 on Monday. Out of the city by 4:30 and out of the province by about 7. The Dude drove on the way TO Regina, which was nice, although I did stay up and keep him company until about an hour away from our destination.

It was a fun week, got to chill with the family-to-be... got to watch his sister's soccer, get his brother a job and eat like there was no tomorrow. We were supposed to go for drinks on our last night, but Dude, me, his cousins and etc were all soooooo tired. Then, Jorge called and I told Derek to go out... he could be tired THIS week, at home, alone... but only go out with the buddies while we were there. So... he went, saying he'd probably be back by midnight.

Yea. Right.

At 2 I went to bed. And woke up every subsequent half hour, worrying. After all, a well-trained man knows to call if he isn't coming home, right? ...right??

Not the case, apparently.

So I spent the last night in Regina with his mom, which was nice, and her son rolled in the next morning at 7. A "hi mom" and off to bed. All I said was, "o... so they don't have any PHONES IN REGINA???" Trying to teach him that I don't give a rat's ass who/where/when/whatever, as long as I get a call so I don't worry. lol

Needless to say, our travelling day was a little rough. When Derek finally woke up he was sick as a dog and started by throwing up while loading the truck, next by sleeping through lunch with his dad's family and ending with him sleeping the whole way back to Edmonton. ...At least he stopped throwing up by the time we got to Saskatoon. XD

It was a great time and I'm glad we had a chance to get away from our worries. (car)

Today I was supposed to start my spring classes but I slept through the alarm and missed the bus... and didn't want to chance driving. So, I guess I get another day of holiday. Booyah!

More to come :)
