Discovery

For many years my friends and I have known that we are not "girly-girls." We weren't the popular girls in school, we didn't wear makeup and spend hours on our hair, we weren't the objects of boys' crushes. We were the girls that watched sports, liked a good dirty joke, were asked opinions on which girls were cute and if we could act as a go-between. WELL finally I know what our type of girl is called. We're "down-to-earth." And that's cool by me.

Playoff Hockey

Playoff hockey is burning me out! Two games in three nights is hard on the body standing on those floors! Cool tho' because I did say hello to Steve Yzerman and Chris Osgood made an appearance at my door to talk to my friend S... lol Luckily the Detroit staff is pretty friendly, not like those of SOME teams who shall remain nameless.

Thank god the disgusting trend of throwing raw meat onto the ice surface seems to have stopped. I can't believe how tasteless and classless some people can be. Like, some people can't afford steaks to EAT and there some yahoos are throwing it away on the ice.... what is WRONG with peoples' minds?

Anyway, gotta go re-paint my toenails copper and blue- could very well be the reason we lost last night, but I'm not going to dwell on it. (I am half-joking...) Game 5 is at 1 on Saturday- I need to find me some company to share the game with.

LET'S GO Oilers! (Detroit Sucks!)

GOOD TIMES!!

Friday night was THE night. First D and her friend C and I went to BPs at West Edmonton Mall to take in the Oiler/Wings Game 1. The Oil lost but it was a good game and we got free jell0 shooters when the Oilers scored. (Blue and Orange, of course!)

After the game we went to a bar where a firefighters grad class was having a fundraiser for a great local charity. It was quiet when we got there but the place wasn't long in filling up. There were lots of nice-looking, fit fellas for the eyes and good friends in the booth for the soul. :-)

Following my new "nothing ventured, nothing gained" mantra I agreed to dance with a cute (albeit kinda drunk) dude who just moved here from Regina. It was an outgoing move for me (and for him as I later found out) and we had a really good time. We had made tentative plans to meet up yesterday but he still hasn't called. I figure it's for one of three reasons:

1) he forgot (was too drunk, lost my number, etc...)
2) he changed his mind (ouch! that one smarts the ego!)
3) he has sobered up and gotten reallly shy (so I guess it's up to me to make the next ?? move)

Unsure of where to go with this, will keep us all posted. lol

In other news, I am still traumatized by the two puddles of vomit ("protein spills") that some kid left on the floor at the tradeshow I worked today.

Attempt 3

LOL idk if I am getting any better at this. You tell me. Sorry if this is making the page super slow. This is high above Banff in 2003.

"I RULE!"
(If you can place that quote you get bonus points.)

(Today is a bonus points kind of day :-O )

Scanner Attempt #2

Taken at the Heritage Classic in Edmonton, AB on November 22, 2003. Extra points go to anyone able to identify the dude I'm with. LOL

This attempt is the right way up, but it's all grainy. I'm working on figuring out how to fix that. ...I'll probably figure it out the day before the computer moves out. /cry :D

Peace, Love, Hang Ten ...California

So in the last few days I've been busy! (Shocking, I know!!)

Thursday I worked the Agricom and then hockey, then bright and early Friday morning I was back at the Agricom. Friday night I treated myself and went to a National Lacrosse League game (we lost, season record: 1-15 with no home wins ; ;) and had a wonderful time. I am even considering a season ticket for next season because the game is awesome. (The only downer that night was the drunk A-HOLES behind me that later went on to do a flying karate kick into the wall for which I am responsible during 90% of Rexall events.)

Saturday (April Fool's Day) was my nephew's 13th birthday. It was nice to gather with the family and eat (delicious!!!) cake. That visit got cut short because I had to go work... hockey! What an awful game. Not only was the team playing badly but there were about 2,000 Flames fans in the stands. By the end of the night there were fistfights EVERYwhere in the building. Wonderful. LOVE to see grown men act like stupid kids.

Drove out to the farm to have a nice restful night... until I got jumped on by an energetic 5-year-old very early in the morning. Nice to see him, but on a morning following a late night and a time change it sure was tough to crack my eyes open. lol Anyway, later that day I took a drive with my mom to go visit her puppy-to-be. She is SOOOOOOOOOOO cute! I can't wait until she is at the farm.

Last night was another hockey game. It was a very entertaining game as we KILLED Phoenix (7-1) but busy for me because Wayne Gretzky is the Phoenix coach and I had to keep control of all the people trying for an autograph. Yikes. I did get to shake Grant Fuhr's hand though and I saw Glen Anderson and Gretz smiled at me, so ooolala I am thrilled. :P

Today I plan on doing NOTHING. And... that's all I have. Catch you on the flipside!
